What people are saying:

“I think you’re awesome. Keep up the great work. It’s so refreshing to come across someone who actually understands food and how it affects your body. We (as a culture) are so seduced by fads and diets of one description or another – yearning for a quick fix. So many folks out there – mainly doctors and so called ‘nutritionists’ still adhering the antiquated 1950s model ‘food pyramid’.  I’ve been eating/living this way since 2007 when I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I’m nearly 100% back to normal – full vibrant health. If I’d listened to my doctor I’d still be bed-ridden! Seriously.”

“I just had to share some feedback with you – because, well who doesn’t love getting good feedback??  This is a message from my closest friend. I bought her your book for Christmas (although only gave it to her last week). She has had a rotten year with glandular fever. She was diagnosed with Coeliac’s about 2 years ago.  I gave her the book in the hope that it would bring about a much healthier year for her. This is a text message I received from her this evening:

“Green renewal juice – love it. Mayo bloody awesome. Salmon patties are amazing. Superseeded bread. Fabulous. I think it might be the best Christmas present ever!”

And I have to say – I agree! It may sounds dramatic, but your book has changed my life!”

“I love your cookbook. The roasted eggplant relish has been a HUGE hit in my household.”

“With suffering Chronic Fatigue for over 10 years I have learnt food is fuel for your body to better health, your book is a food bible for me!”

“Supercharged Food brings all things wholesome, pure and healthy together in a captivating way. It has inspired me to take charge of my health and IBD.”

“This is the book of life. it has recipes for healing, happiness and love. It shows that our food is medicine!”

“I was watching ‘the circle’ last week and saw you on there making your bread and salad. As I listened to you talk about food and cooking, I realised that most of the food that my 2 young kids, my partner and my self are eating is from a packet. It was like turning on a light and im now interested and determined to change our diets and lifestyle.Thank you for giving me the inspiration and for opening my eyes to the fact that most of our society live on processed and un-nutritrious food!!”

“These recipes make the monumental lifestyle change possible, with alot less, easy to purchase ingreditents. A simplistic way to eating balanced, diverse, tasty meals daily.”

“I am a junior medical doctor obsessed with food! I would love to educate myself and therefore my patients of the importance of preventative eating rather than simply offering treatments for conditions too far gone. Prevention (through diet) is evidence-based and your book is my first step in this journey.”

“I made Kale chips for the kids yesterday and they LOVED them. There’s no excuse for not having a healthy diet if i can get the 5,3 and 1 year old on board !!!”

“Being gluten and dairy free I have been getting lazy and relying on expensive gluten free processed empty nutrient foods. I needed INSPIRATION to change and your book has given me that”

“After 12 months on steroids for Sjogren’s disease, I’ve realised diet, not drugs, is the key. I loved adding your recipes to my collection!”

“Been searching like crazy for intellegentiy researched, sensible recipies that are gluten, dairy, and sugar free that have taste…to heal my autoimmune disorders too!”

“I just wanted to congratulate you on the most fantastic cook book.  I am an absolute foodie, I eat everything and anything as I have no dietary requirements and tolerate all foods. I watch cooking programs like an addict and have mountains of cook books yet I keep going back to your trusty Supercharged Foods. I have nearly made all of the recipes in the book and am constantly reading your blog Facebook page for more ideas. I actually have to stop myself from cooking some of your recipes (zucchini bread…!) because I can (and have) eaten it all in one sitting!! I don’t often facebook people I don’t know or even communicate with cook book authors as a rule but really am loving your recipes and wanted to make sure you knew how wonderful they were!”

    Hi Lee,
Just wondering how many of your recipes are meat free as I am a vegetarian. I do my best to avoid sugar, gluten, wheat and yeast so would enjoy that aspect of the recipes.

There are quite a few and the great thing is you can swap out the ingredients in them to add the vegetables you like to eat for example the stuffed peppers recipe you can use zucchini instead of mince etc. :) Lee

    Hi Lee,
I love the book and it’s really simple and easy for me to follow (since my skills in the kitchen are still fledgling sized). I just have a question though, I was wondering what your take on oats is as I love eating them as porridge for breakfast but want the best for my body.

Hi Jenny, that is great! Oats are a wonderful breakfast food but they are easily contaminated and can contain amounts of gluten. If you are ok with them and feel alright after eating them there is no reason to stop.

    Hi Lee
I have just discovered you in the annual Well being magazine. I am turning 74 on the 7th Jan and I still work full time, very busy. I need to stay healthy and as a diabetic type 2, I do try hard to eat correctly. I have just ordered two of your recipe books, one for myself and one for my Grandaughter who has Chrone’s. Her Dr has told her there is no cure and no special diet……..I have now told her about you and she is very excited to be receiving you’re book. Thanks so much Lee
    kind regards

    Hi Lee,
I bought your book Super Foods Eat your way to good health & I have a couple of questions.
    1) When I was tested for food allergies a few years ago I found out I was allergic to yeast, fermented items, onions, garlic & the mold in certain cheeses. What can I use in place of the nutritional yeast flakes in the recipes?

Sorry, my touch-screen phone is very sensitive. I’ll ask more questions later. I seem to be in a brain fog & can’t remember the other question.

    See…..I REALLY need this cookbook!

Thanks for responding. I don’t have candida, but break out in severe hives when eating foods with fresh yeast such as freshly made yeast rolls – freshly made pizza dough. Sometimes it affects my breathing.

Can I just leave it out of the recipes calling for it or is there a safe substitute for it I could use. Thanks.

Hi Betty, it is not the same as fresh yeast (even though it has the name yeast) but if you are uncomfortable using it then instead of the nutritional yeast you could leave it out of the recipes or depending upon what the recipe is you could substitute it with another ingredient, but it would be fine to leave it out if you want to :) I hope this helps. Lee
